Susa Pop

Susa Pop is a curator, cultural producer and entrepreneur, lecturer and founding director of Public Art Lab. Her projects have a focus on creative city-making through urban media art projects which foster digital placemaking, community building, citizen science and translocal dialogue in the urban space. Selected curatorial projects are Mobile Studios and Mobile Museums (2004-2006) Media Façades Festivals (2008 and 2010), Innovation Forum Urban Screens (2011), Bauhaus Festival (2012 and 2013), Connected Cultures for Germany + Brazil Year 2013, City Visions Jena in 2015 for the International UNESCO Light Year, Guangzhou Light Festival (2015), Live Your City in Bangkok (2016). She initiates and and co-produces hybrid urban media art networks like Connecting Cities, Future DiverCities and hybridcity.art,  and curates citizen science projects like Public Face (2017) and Fake Star (2018) and the human rights projects like Kubik Freiheit for amnesty international.

Susa Pop holds lectures worldwide and gives seminars at the Bauhaus University Weimar. She is co-editor of Urban Media Art Cultures (avedition, 2012) and What Urban Media Art Can Do – Why, When, Where, and How? (av edition, 2016). In 2017 she co-initiated the globally networked Urban Media Art Academy with Tanya Toft Ag.
